Organics....An Assurance For Purity & Safety
The ever increasing battle for time is every parents’ nightmare today. Increasing pressure for better education and financial security means getting married later, over 30 – 40 years old. Coupled with lifestyles of conveniences – almost everything we eat and drink at home come from supermarkets. Fresh food seems a thing of the past – they now come from supermarkets shelves or freezers.
This has led to the necessary use of preservatives in virtually all the things we buy. Preservatives are necessary evils to keep away harmful bacteria in our bottles, jars, packets of food stuff. By their very nature preservatives have been and still are toxic substances which enable them to kill the bugs – both the bad bugs in our processed food as well as the good bacteria in our guts which help to digest our food & drinks. Research has shown dramatic reduction in the varieties of gut bacteria over the past 50 years. This seems to coincide with the decline in fertility rates.
Most parents of young children are time deficient, leading to over indulgence in supermarket & fast food plus misguided hygiene practices derived from misleading advertising. Our children today especially babies are showing increasing trend in medical problems such as food allergies, asthma and eczema.
Many body hygiene products are laden with chemicals dangerous to the human body especially those of the fast-growing babies and young children.
Two such chemicals still commonly used are parabens (preservatives) which may cause breast cancer and adversely affect male sterility and sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS or SLES) a detergent which caused skin thinning – primary potential cause for exacerbating eczema. Parabens are banned in the EU for many years.
Why Organics? The rhetorical answer should perhaps be Why Not Organics?
